The Marin Association of REALTORS (MAR) works to ensure the business success of our members. We provide political advocacy, education, and ethics/dispute resolution services to nearly 1,700 REALTORS who work in 300 real estate offices across the county. The Marin Association of REALTORS, which was founded in 1920, is headquartered in San Rafael.

• Marin Association of Realtors was responsible for ending MMWD’s point-of-sale toilet retrofit program that turned REALTORS into the “toilet police.”
• Marin Association of Realtors defeated the onerous ordinance proposed by a sewer district that would have harmed home sellers and the escrow process by requiring North San Rafael homeowners to spend up to $25,000 to inspect and repair lateral sewer lines before they could sell their property.
• Marin Association of Realtors defeated a City of San Rafael proposal to make all REALTORS pay business license fees as independent business owners.
