Recognized by the Maryland Association of REALTORS (MAR) with the organization’s CARE (Charity and REALTOR Excellence) Award for outstanding community service in 2003, the Frederick County Association of REALTORS (FCAR), looks to the future in setting our goals to assist our members, affiliates, and other area REALTORS, as well as the many local communities which we serve.
Located in historic Frederick, and only 40 minutes from both the Washington, DC and Baltimore metropolitan areas, Frederick County Association of REALTORS has long been one of the area’s leading organizations in promoting the excellent quality of life in our region.
The mission of Frederick County Association of REALTORS is to “provide services to its members in order to enhance the level of professionalism and adherence to the Code of Ethics. Frederick County Association of REALTORS is committed to the community, promoting the role of REALTORS to the public, working with legislators to be involved in the political process and protecting property rights. Frederick County Association of REALTORS works closely with Maryland Association of REALTORS and National Association of REALTORS to achieve these goals.
Providing quality services to our membership incorporates many programs:
First, Frederick County Association of REALTORS is dedicated to offering timely and informative educational courses to help REALTORS expand their knowledge. Numerous continuing education courses are scheduled throughout the year, and the Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) professional designation programs are also offered on a consistent basis. In addition to an outstanding educational program, Frederick County Association of REALTORS offers many other important services including a printed monthly newsletter which covers many important topics related to the real estate industry, an interactive website for members, affiliates and the public to access vital information, monthly membership meetings, and several active committees which work within the association and the community.
Some of Frederick County Association of REALTORS’ most visible committees include the Legislative Committee and the Community Service Committee. The Legislative Committee has been particularly active in monitoring the local political landscape and providing input to governmental agencies on topics related to fair housing, growth, impact fees, property rights, zoning and many other issues.
For years, Frederick County Association of REALTORS’ Community Service Committee has played a very significant role in raising money which has been donated to several outside charities and organizations, and the committee has spearheaded several efforts such as scheduling an annual blood drive and organizing Frederick County Association of REALTORS benefit events. This committee was recently recognized by Maryland Association of REALTORS for their outstanding efforts.
Frederick County Association of REALTORS has many other committees with dedicated members who work hard to help the organization reach its goals. Committees include: Communications, Membership, Education, Awards, American Home Project, Diversity, Model Forms, Professional Standards, Grievance, and Affordable Housing.
Frederick County Association of REALTORS is an active Association which strives to reach out to all.

The FREDERICK COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS exists to support all segments of its membership, in concert with the MARYLAND ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS, by developing and delivering programs, services and related products that will continue to elevate the standards of the real estate business and the professional conduct of the persons engaged therein, and that will assist members in the ethically and successfully serving the public with the highest degree of professional ability in matters involving real estate; and through collective efforts:
- Promote the preservation of the right to own; transfer and use real property;
- Protect the right of members to conduct business without undue regulatory restraint; and
- To support and to enhance its members’ professional objectives by developing and providing quality services and programs for the benefit and by request of the membership.
