Foreclosures might up 281% in Riverside County
RIVERSIDE — Possible household foreclosures in Riverside County are up 281% in the second quarter compared with the same period last year, according the real estate tracking firm RealtyTrac. The firm reported 12,759 filings of mortgage default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions during the quarter. “There’s concern there, but the increases may not be as bad as they sound because we were in a real low spot as far as foreclosure in 2005,” said RealtyTrac spokesman Daren Blomquist. Los Angeles County led the state with 24,054 foreclosure-related filings, the firm said.
