Dennis Johnson Named Colorado 2007 REALTOR of the Year
Breckenridge Broker Made Successful Career Transition from Law Enforcement to Top REALTOR®
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado - November 28, 2007 - Dennis L. Johnson, a real estate broker with Paffrath & Thomas in Breckenridge, Colorado, was named the 2007 REALTOR® of the Year by the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR).
Candidates for REALTOR® of the year must demonstrate a significant commitment to the profession through ethical business conduct and support for the principles which distinguish REALTORS® as leading real estate professionals. Other factors taken into consideration are civic and charitable activity, as well as level and duration of active participation in the local, state and national REALTOR® associations.
Johnson moved to Breckenridge from the Denver area in 1977 to become the city’s assistant chief of Police. Two years later he retired from law enforcement and began a career in residential real estate.
“I am very humbled and honored by this award. Each day I get to see one of my peers and enjoy the work of ‘Realtorism’,” said Johnson upon accepting his award. “I join a remarkable list of previous winners of this award and I will continue to work hard to be worthy of this wonderful recognition.”
An active and dedicated member of the Summit County Association of REALTORS®, Colorado Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), Johnson has served all three organizations in a variety of leadership positions. He served a term as president of CAR in 2000 and is a past member of both the Research and the Resort Real Estate Committees of NAR. In 2008 Johnson will serve as one of CAR’s representatives to NAR.
