Creekview Realty Buys Flat Fee MLS Service, FlatFeeListing.com

January 2008

PLANO, TEXAS - January 29, 2008 - FlatFeeListing.com, a national real estate flat fee MLS listing website, was acquired by Creekview Realty, a Texas flat fee discount real estate brokerage firm. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Creekview Realty and FlatFeeListing.com allow sellers across the Texas and the USA to list their homes on MLS for $349 to $499 instead of paying the traditional 6% real estate commission. The typical seller is a “for-sale-by-owner” who wants the market exposure of the MLS, while retaining control and the ability to deal with buyers direct without owing any Realtor a commission.

The domain name, FlatFeeListing.com, has significant value because “Flat Fee Listing” is one of the most common search terms used by homeowners interested in listing their homes in the MLS for a flat fee. FlatFeeListing.com appears first in the organic search results when entering “flat fee listing” in major search engines like Yahoo or Google.

According to a study by Oneupweb, an integrated online web marketing leader, users are up to six times more likely to click on the first few organic search results than they are to choose any of the paid advertising results. “You can literally spend a fortune on pay-per-click advertising to generate the same amount of business that you can get for free with the right domain name,” says John Prell, head broker at Creekview Realty.

In May 2006, Tribune Interactive, a subsidiary of Tribune Company acquired ForSaleByOwner.com, a nationwide real estate website that directly connects home buyers and sellers. Prell comments, “They have a great website, but the domain name is what makes it so valuable.”

As for future plans for FlatFeeListing.com, Prell says, “Financing is in place, and we will be investing heavily to make FlatFeeListing.com the premier flat fee MLS listing web site in the US. We are in the process of revamping the site and will be adding features like allowing sellers to create their own web pages, loan pre-qualifications for qualifying buyers, and lots of information resources to make the process of selling a home easy and inexpensive.”

“We’ll also be adding resources for buyers to save money. In Texas, Creekview Realty gives buyers a rebate of 2/3 of the real estate commission if they do the legwork of finding a home, which isn’t that hard using the internet. With FlatFeeListing.com, we plan to take that national,” says Prell.
