Condo sued over pool age limit

An Akron condo association is being sued over its policy barring babies and toddlers from the swimming pool.

The civil rights lawsuit brought by the mother of a one-year-old and a fair housing group claims the Seven Stories East Condominiums is discriminating against young children because of fears they’ll relieve themselves in the water.

The Fair Housing Advocates Association says a four-year-old or even an elderly person could do the same.

The mother, Suzanne Malcom, says she was upset in mid-June when she was told to keep her son Lucas out of the pool. She says he was wearing a swim diaper and is potty trained.
