Bank of America Names Countrywide David Sambol to Lead Mortgage Unit

NEW YORK - January 31, 2008 - Bank of America Corp. and Countrywide Financial Corp. Thursday said they have named David Sambol, Countrywide’s president and chief operating officer, to lead the combined consumer mortgage business once Bank of America’s purchase of Countrywide is complete. Sambol will continue in his current role until the transaction is completed sometime in the third quarter 2008.
