Agent Links New Home Buyers to Women Builders
SEATTLE, WA - July 22 2008 - The newest agent to join ek Real Estate Group brings an unusual niche to the residential real estate firm at Fisher Plaza: women builders. With over a decade of experience in real estate and construction, Max Wurzburg has spent the past five years matching buyers of new and remodeled single-family homes to women-owned construction firms. Wurzburg, who joined ek Real Estate Group in July, previously worked at John L. Scott Real Estate.
Wurzburg’s growing network of women builders started several years ago when his sister, a builder of residential homes, recruited him to assist with one of her construction projects. Since then, he has overseen numerous construction projects for luxury single-family homes, many for women builders.
“Max provides ‘end-to-end’ services — something that is rare but so important for small builders,” says Susan Keating, a longtime client, and co-owner of Post-20, LLC, a Seattle home building and remodeling firm. “He’ll do everything from finding land for me to build on to helping with architectural plans and construction to marketing my property and locating a buyer. He has an amazing understanding of his client’s entire vision — from where you want to start to your ultimate goal.”
For the person looking to buy a new or remodeled home, Wurzburg’s architectural and construction knowledge, as well as his talent for creating compelling spaces, are invaluable, according to Edward Krigsman, President and CEO of ek Real Estate Group. “Max is dedicated to educating his buyers. He also exudes a sense of calm — a virtue not lost on homebuyers and sellers in these times of uncertainty.”
Wurzburg’s clientele of small builders, many of which are women-owned firms, has been steadily expanding. According to Keating, it’s Max’s “incredible market insights” that contribute to his success. “You have to listen to Max,” she says. “His instincts are always dead on; I trust him implicitly.” While acknowledging that construction is still a male-dominated industry, Keating says that is changing, and that she and other women builders she knows encounter few obstacles as women. “If anything, it’s being a small builder that poses the most challenges,” she contends.
Instilled with a passion for customer service shaped early on by intermittent jobs at customer-friendly Nordstrom during high school and college, Wurzburg was drawn to ek Real Estate Group by its “refreshing spin on real estate.” The company’s team approach, he explains, is conducive to building long-term relationships with customers. “When you work on your own, you can’t be all things to all people. Having a team to handle the operational and administrative issues frees me up to spend more time directly helping my clients.”
A Northwest Pacific native, Wurzburg holds a bachelor’s degree in business and English from Washington State University and an advanced degree in Japanese from the Kobe City University of Foreign Languages. Prior to his real estate and construction career, he spent five years in Japan, teaching English to Japanese high school students.
